When you are under pressure to get work done, you are going to see honest differences of opinion that don't resolve easily. You can pretend to resolve conflict by suppressing it, but you risk missing something important, something that might jeopardize the success of the project.  Because conflict is normal, predictable, and necessary, the best goal is to make it constructive. 
  1. Recognize your own conflict styles, both constructive and defensive. 
  2. Observe conflict styles shown by members of your team. 
  3. Take action to shift the conflict to the constructive styles.

We show 12 distinct conflict styles.  Four are constructive and eight are not.  The odds are your team is stuck in too many defensive or destructive conflict styles and cannot move to open communication without help.  We can help you lead your team into constructive conflict.
